Fredy A.Otalora

Fredy A. Otalora is a Doctor of Optometry and has graduated with Honors from NOVA Southeastern University in 2009. He received a fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry in 2015.  Dr. Otalora also received his Optometry degree in Colombia, South America in 2000. He completed an externship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in 2009. Dr. Otalora is currently doing a Master in Clinical Vision Research at NOVA Southeastern University. He is also a Clinical Preceptor and Externship site coordinator at Nova Southeastern University. He works as an adjunct professor at the Diplomate of Advanced Contact Lens Fitting at Universidad del Bosque, Colombia and has participated as a Professor in the Master of Vision Sciences in La Salle University, Colombia in 2010. Dr. Otalora frequently lectures internationally and has published articles in the area of ocular disease and contact lenses

Dr. Otalora is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor society and was recognized by the American Glaucoma Society as an award winner for the Patient Care Improvement Project in 2006. Dr. Otalora received a Module Director’s Award from Nova Southeastern University in 2009, a VSP scholarship for demonstrating excellence in the pursuit of Primary Care Skills in 2008 and The Clinical Preceptor of the year recognition in 2014. He has also presented several posters in the American Optometric Association and SECO meetings. His areas of interest and specialty include Ocular Disease and Contact lenses.
